#15: Include ‘green’ vehicles in HOV lanes

Over the last several years, Toronto and the greater Toronto area have added ‘HOV’ lanes on many highways and main streets. These lanes are reserved for buses and ‘high occupancy vehicles’ (2 or more people), encouraging motorists to consider more environmentally responsible methods of transportation.  I imagine this trend is starting in many cities around the world.  The other day I was on the highway and noticed that they have now added a sign, reserving the HOV lane for ‘green’ vehicles as well (i.e., hybrids etc…). That made me very giddy–I’m loving it!
